Still Life and Landscapes by Nancy Roach

Pastel on paper.

My love of color and design is reflected in my pastels, a medium that lends itself to immediate, gratifying results. Many layers of color can be applied and mixed on the paper’s surface.

Surrounded by magnificent country, I have a wealth of inspiration. My landscapes are executed from memory after a brief sketch is made of a captivating scene, thus the dreamlike, fantasy quality.

I use live models for my still life pieces. Sumptuous fruits bought at my local farmer’s market provide endless seasonal subjects.
